Cloud Website Hosting Disclosed

What is cloud hosting really? The word 'cloud' seems to be very modern in today's IT, Internet and hosting terminology. Even so, only a few in fact are aware of what cloud hosting is. Perhaps it is a fine idea to inform yourself about cloud hosting services. To make a quite lengthy tale short, we will first enlighten you on what cloud hosting is not.

1. Cloud Hosting is Not Restricted to a Remote File Storage Exclusively.

1. Offering a remote data storage solution, which comprises one single disk storage appliance for all users, does not turn any specific service provider into an authentic cloud hosting accounts provider.

The cPanel web hosting firms name the ability to deliver remote file storage solutions a cloud hosting solution. Up until now there is nothing wrong with the cloud labeling, but... we are talking about web hosting solutions, not remote disk storage services for individual or corporate needs. There's always one "but", isn't there? It's not sufficient to name a shared web hosting solution, powered by a single-server hosting environment, exactly like cPanel, a "cloud hosting" service. This is so because the other constituents of the entire web hosting platform must be operating in precisely the same way - this does not relate solely to the remote file storage. The other services entailed in the entire hosting procedure also must be remote, separated and "clouded". And that's extremely difficult. A very small number of web hosting corporations can actually attain it.

2. It Entails Domains, Email Box Accounts, Databases, FTPs, Hosting CPs, etc.

Cloud hosting is not restricted to a remote data storage solely. We are talking about a web hosting service, serving multiple domain names, online portals, e-mail aliases, etc., are we not?

To name a web hosting service a "cloud hosting" one requires a lot more than providing simply remote disk storage mounts (or perhaps servers). The electronic mail server(s) must be devoted exclusively to the electronic mail connected services. Performing nothing different than these specific assignments. There might be only one single or perhaps an entire bundle of electronic mail servers, determined by the overall load produced. To have an authentic cloud hosting service, the remote database servers should be functioning as one, irrespective of their real amount. Performing nothing different. The same goes for the customers' web hosting Control Panels, the File Transfer Protocol, etc.

3. There are Cloud Domain Name Servers (DNSs) as well.

The DNSs (Domain Name Servers) of a real cloud hosting packages provider will support multiple data center sites on different continents.

Here's an example of a DNS of a true cloud hosting solutions provider:

If such a Domain Name Server is furnished by your web hosting solutions provider, it's not a sure thing that there is a cloud web hosting platform in use, but you can definitely be convinced when you see a DNS like the one beneath:

that there isn't any cloud hosting service. This kind of DNS simply displays that the hosting environment in use is one-single-server based. Maybe it's cPanel. cPanel is a single-server hosting platform and holds a 98+ percent market share. In cPanel's case, one single physical server is responsible for all hosting services (web, mail, DNS, databases, File Transfer Protocol, CP(s), website files, etc.).

Remote File Storage - The Warped Description of Cloud Hosting.

So, a cloud hosting solution is not restricted only to a remote file storage service, as lots of web hosting companies wish it was. Unluckily for them, if that was the case, the majority of the file web hosting firms would have been referred to as cloud hosting ones long ago! They are not categorized as such, as they simply supply file web hosting solutions, not cloud web hosting solutions. The file hosting platform looks really very plain, when compared to the web hosting platform. The remote file storage platform is not a cloud hosting platform. It cannot be, as it's just one small part of the entire cloud web hosting platform. There's plenty more to be discovered in the cloud hosting platform: the web hosting CP cloud, the database clouds (MySQL, PostgreSQL), the DNS cloud, the FTP cloud, the e-mail cloud and... in the near future, possibly several new clouds we currently are not familiar with will turn up out of the blue.
